Loading & Unloading

The heaviest pieces in a household—the refrigerator, the washer, and the oak dresser—go in first against the front wall of the truck box, right behind the cab. A Moving Company LLC builds every load from that wall back. This page covers our loading and unloading service in Boise, ID: two movers with a dolly and moving straps, tier-by-tier planning for rental trucks you drive yourself, storage unit help, and furniture reassembly. We are BBB Accredited with an A+ rating.

YOU KEEP THE KEYS. WE DO THE LIFTING.

Driving your own rental truck makes sense until the dresser has to go up the ramp. Who lifts the sleeper sofa? Who decides that the mattresses stand along the side wall so boxes stack snugly behind them? We send two movers to handle the lifting, the stacking, and the order, while you stay in charge of the route and timing.

Billing runs only for the time we actually work. Our office lays out what to expect from booking through arrival to the last piece on board, so the day holds no guesswork about who shows up or when.

LOADING & UNLOADING

EVERY TIER STACKED TIGHT, EVERY GAP FILLED.

Picture the truck box as a series of walls built from the cab back. Appliances and dressers form the base wall. Boxes, nightstands, and chairs climb floor to ceiling in front of them, and the next tier begins. Cushions, bags, and small cartons fill the gaps so nothing slides on the first turn. Each tier gets tied off, and since labor-only jobs do not include blankets or tie-downs, please bring your own pads and tie-down straps.

150,000 NEW NEIGHBORS MEAN A LOT OF LOADED TRUCKS.

Ada and Canyon counties added about 150,000 residents between the 2020 Census and 2026, and each new household came with furniture to unload. Growth like that keeps rental trucks and storage units busy from Boise to Meridian and Nampa, and we work with local storage facilities across the Treasure Valley. Whether the truck waits outside a Garden City apartment or a new home in Star, we load it the same way.

A BADLY LOADED TRUCK TAUGHT US TO LOAD IN TIERS.

Most movers learn it sooner or later: a truck filled in random order shifts, and shifting breaks things. Over 20 years, we turned that lesson into a routine. Dense pieces hug the cab wall, tiers rise evenly, and soft goods plug every hole. It works the same in a rental truck, a storage unit, or our own trucks. Why gamble on a load headed down the highway when we can build it for you?

WHY CHOOSE US FOR LOADING & UNLOADING.

Heavy First, Light Last

Appliances, dressers, and solid wood ride against the front wall by the cab, where the weight travels best. Lighter boxes and chairs stack toward the door, so the load stays balanced from ramp to destination.

You Pay for Time Used

Charges follow the hours we actually work, not a padded block of time. A tidy path, taped boxes, and one decision-maker on site all shorten the day and keep the total in check.

One Contact at Each End

Name one person at the old place and one at the new place to direct us. That single voice stops double handling, where a piece gets carried in, set down, and then carried again.

Straight Talk on Electronics

Televisions and computer monitors go on board only when boxed, and we do not disconnect or reconnect washers, dryers, or electronics. Knowing those limits early saves a last-minute scramble on loading day.

Tools Arrive With Us

Every labor crew shows up with a dolly and moving straps, and plastic wrap comes along on request. Blankets and tie-downs are not part of labor-only work, so plan to supply those yourself.

No Surprises on 250-Pound Items

Flag anything weighing 250 pounds or more when you book, whether it is a safe, a piano, or a massive armoire. That heads-up lets us arrive prepared instead of improvising at your door.

WHAT WE LOAD

OUR LOADING & UNLOADING WORK.

Some jobs start at a rental counter, others at a storage facility, and many end in a living room across the valley. These six services cover the loading, the unloading, and the finishing touches in between.

RENTAL TRUCKS

Rental Truck Loading

Pick up the rental, and we fill it. Our two movers stage the densest pieces first, build tiers toward the door, and close out a load packed tight enough for the drive you have planned.

LOAD PLANNING

Space-Efficient Load Planning

Before anything rolls up the ramp, we size up the pile and decide where each piece lands. Mattresses stand on edge along the side walls, tabletops lean against dressers, and every cubic foot earns its keep.

STORAGE HELP

Storage Unit Loading and Unloading

We work with local storage facilities, carrying belongings into a unit or pulling them back out when the time comes. Tall pieces go to the back, labeled boxes face out, and a walkway stays open for later visits.

NEW ADDRESS

Unloading at Your New Home

Once the truck parks, we walk every piece off and straight to the room you name. Boxes land in stacks by room, furniture goes where you point, and nothing gets abandoned in the garage.

REASSEMBLY

Furniture Assembly After Unloading

Bed frames, tables, and other pieces we took apart at loading get put back together at the other end. Then each one gets set in its spot, so your first night starts with a bed frame standing, not leaning.

LABOR CREWS

Two-Mover Labor Crews

Booking a labor crew gets you two movers, a dolly, and moving straps, with plastic wrap on request. You supply the truck, pads, and tie-downs, and we supply strength, stacking know-how, and steady effort from first lift to last.

Common Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

Renting your own truck or filling a storage unit? These answers explain how labor-only help works, what our movers bring, and how a well-planned load keeps your belongings steady from driveway to destination.

  • What is a labor-only move?

Labor-only means you provide the rental truck or storage unit, and we provide two movers to load or unload it. Our movers bring a dolly and moving straps, with plastic wrap on request, but blankets and tie-downs are not included.

  • How do you load a moving truck properly?

Start with the heaviest items, like appliances and dressers, against the front wall by the cab. Build the load in tiers from floor to ceiling, tie off each tier with straps, and fill every gap so nothing shifts in transit.

  • How many movers does it take to load a 26-foot truck?

Two movers is our standard crew for labor-only work, and it matches our own truck setup: a 26-foot truck with a lift and two movers. Stairs, long carries, and bulky pieces mostly stretch the clock rather than changing the headcount.

  • How long does it take to load a moving truck?

That depends on how much you own, the carry distance, and whether stairs are involved. Stairs at either end can add about an hour, while taped boxes, a clear path, and one person directing us speed up the whole job.

  • Can movers unload a truck I drove myself?

Yes. A Moving Company LLC unloads rental trucks customers drive themselves, meeting you at your new home in Boise, ID, or elsewhere in the Treasure Valley. Each piece goes to the room you choose and is set where you want it.

  • Do loading crews bring their own equipment?

Our labor crews arrive with a dolly and moving straps, and plastic wrap comes along whenever requested. Blankets, pads, and tie-downs are not included on labor-only jobs, so rent or borrow those along with your truck if you need them.

  • How do I keep items from shifting inside a moving truck?

Close every empty space. Push boxes snugly together, stuff cushions, pillows, or bags into the gaps, and secure each finished tier with tie-downs before building the next one. Spreading weight evenly from side to side keeps the load from leaning.

  • Why hire movers just to load and unload?

Hiring help for the lifting keeps your rental plan intact while sparing your back. A Moving Company LLC has loaded trucks around Boise, ID, for 20 years, and a load built in tiers travels much better than one thrown together.

HOW WE WORK

FROM BOOKED SLOT TO CLOSED DOOR, HERE IS HOW.

STEP 01

Book and Share Your Inventory

Reach out through our contact page or quote form and tell us what is going on the truck. Mention stairs, long carries, and any item of 250 pounds or more, so our office can schedule the right movers and time.

STEP 02

Prep the Path and the Boxes

Tape every box shut, box up TVs and monitors, and disconnect washers and dryers ahead of time, since we do not handle those connections. Keep kids and pets out of the path so we can carry freely and safely.

STEP 03

Walk Through With One Contact

When we arrive, one person shows us what goes, what stays, and where the truck or unit is parked. That single contact answers questions as they come up, which prevents pieces from being carried twice.

STEP 04

Build the Load Wall by Wall

First come appliances and dressers against the cab wall. Tiers rise floor to ceiling behind them, gaps get filled with soft goods, and each tier gets secured with the tie-downs you provided before the next one begins.

STEP 05

Unload Room by Room

At the destination, we carry pieces off in reverse order and set each one in the room you name. Boxes land where their labels say, and nothing ends up stranded in a hallway or garage.

STEP 06

Reassemble and Finish the Walk-Through

Pieces we took apart go back together, furniture gets nudged into its final position, and we check the truck or unit with you. We wrap up only when the space is empty and everything sits where you want it.
